Khamrah vs Qahwa vs Dukhan vs Waha: Which to Buy

Khamrah made Lattafa famous, and it now has three well known flankers. They share a family resemblance but they are not interchangeable, and the differences matter if you are choosing one bottle. Here is how they actually compare.

Khamrah, the original

Warm and boozy, built on cinnamon, dates, tonka and vanilla with a dried fruit sweetness. It is the most balanced of the four and the safest first purchase. Best in autumn and winter, and better at night than in daylight.

Khamrah Qahwa

Qahwa means coffee, and that is exactly what changes. The coffee note cuts through the sweetness, so it reads drier and a little more grown up than the original. Choose this if you liked Khamrah but found it too sugary.

Khamrah Dukhan

Dukhan means smoke. This is the darkest of the family, with incense and a smoky woody base over the same spiced core. It is the most divisive and the most distinctive. Choose it if you already own the original and want something with more edge.

Khamrah Waha

Waha is the sweetest and most tropical, leaning into fruit and creamy vanilla. It is the easiest to wear in warmer weather and the most approachable of the four for someone new to Arabian perfumery.

Which one should you buy first

  • Buying your first bottle: Khamrah.
  • You find gourmands too sweet: Qahwa.
  • You want something darker and unusual: Dukhan.
  • You want something lighter and fruitier: Waha.

Getting more wear out of them

All four are eau de parfum and they project, so two or three sprays is usually enough. Apply to moisturised skin at the pulse points and chest. If you want the scent to last through a long day without emptying the bottle, layer the matching deodorant underneath from our deodorants collection.

Buying in Lebanon

All four sit in our Lattafa collection, sourced direct and never counterfeit. Fast delivery across Lebanon, cash on delivery, and free shipping over $125. If you are still deciding, the bestsellers page shows what is actually selling.
